Rugby Ontario Senior Men's Leagues
Rugby Ontario operates two senior men's leagues, the Marshall Premiership and the Marshall Championship.
The Marshall Premiership is the province's top division of men's club rugby, while the Marshall Championship represents the province's second flight.
The Marshall Premiership is made up of the top eight clubs in Ontario (outside of the EORU). The 2015 Marshall Premiership clubs are: Aurora Barbarians, Balmy Beach, Brantford Harlequins, London St. George's, Markham Irish, Oakville Crusaders, Stoney Creek, and Toronto Scottish.
The Marshall Championship division serves as Ontario's second division. The 2015 Marshall Championship clubs are: Ajax Wanderers, Brampton Beavers, Lindsay RFC, Oshawa Vikings, Peterborough Pagans, Sarnia Saints, and Toronto Nomads.
Each club in the two Marshall divisions will field both a 1st and 2nd XV for the duration of the season. Clubs will have the option of running additional XV teams, either playing in Branch Union leagues or in exhibition games against other additional XV teams.
At the end of the season, the 8th-place team in the Marshall Premiership will be relegated to the Marshall Championship, while the winner of the Marshall Championship will earn promotion to the Marshall Premiership.
The 8th-place team of the Marshall Championship will participate in the Men’s Intermediate Cup against the top teams from Niagara Rugby Union and Toronto Rugby branch leagues for a chance to retain their position in the Marshall Championship.
