The McCormick Cup Semi Finals came down to four powerhouse rugby clubs. Brantford met Oakville this past Saturday in Brantford, while the Toronto Scottish and Balmy Beach clashed at Fletcher's Fields. The four sides did not disappoint, as both matches were decided by four points or less. The McCormick Cup Finals will take place on October 22 at 2:30pm. The finals will be the highlight of a full day of rugby action at Fletcher's Fields in Markham.

Brantford Harlequins (1) v. Oakville Crusaders (5)

The Crusaders did not go down without a fight against the number one ranked Harlequins, on Saturday. With both clubs trading points, the match looked to come down to the wire, but Brantford narrowly took the decision by a score of 28-24. Oakville bows out of the McCormick Cup after a successful run to the semis, while Brantford will face the Scottish in the McCormick Cup Finals.

Toronto Scottish (2) v. Balmy Beach (3)

In this all Toronto matchup, it was evident that defence would be the deciding factor early on. Balmy Beach, who have won the past two McCormick Cups, displayed how resilient they could be, hanging on throughout the matchup and making critical stops against a charging Scottish side. The Scottish proved to be too much for the Beach side, though as they took the match narrowly by a score of 18-16. Balmy Beach exits the playoffs, after yet another impressive run, just falling short of a third straight McCormick Cup, while the Scottish will face the number-one ranked Brantford Harlequins.

Consolation Semi-Finals:
Close contests seemed to be the theme of the day, as it was fairly evident in Consolation action, as well. Stoney Creek faced the Toronto Nomads on Saturday. Although, both sides conceded three tries respectively, Creek took the contest 24-19, narrowly defeating the Toronto side. Markham and Ajax met on Saturday, as well, but the 16th-ranked Wanderers were no match against the Irish side. Markham won the contest 61-7 and move on to face Stoney Creek in the finals.

Gee Gage Cup:
Barrie RFC 17 - Toronto Scottish 41
Oakville Crusaders 32 - Balmy Beach 21
Bay St. RFC 20 - Aurora Barbarians 0 (DEFAULT)
