DAY 1 RECAP: JR BLUES SEVENS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

(VANCOUVER, BC) - The Ontario Junior Blues Sevens teams completed a successful day at the Canadian Rugby U18 7s Championship on Thursday. Ontario has a total of four teams represented (2 in each division). The Ontario 1 Men's and Women's teams went undefeated on Day 1 of competition, while the Ontario 2 Men's and Women's teams both sported a 2-1 record, suffering losses at the hands of British Columbia.

For the Men's sides, tomorrow will see the teams close out pool play, with Ontario 1 playing Saskatchewan at 11:44am ET and Ontario 2 playing Manitoba at 12:06pm ET.

Currently, David Richard is third in scoring among U18 Men, with 19 points.

The Women's sides enter Quarter Final play. Ontario 1 finished in second place, finishing behind a strong British Columbia side who did not concede a point on Day 1. Ontario 2 finished in fourth place. Ontario 1 will take on Quebec (7th place) at 11:00am ET, while Ontario 2 takes on Manitoba (5th place).

Currently, Brooklynn Feasby and Maddie Grant sit tied for second in scoring after Day 1, with 15 points a piece.
