Blues U20 Women: Hercus announces 2017 long-list for U20 program

(WHITBY, ON) - The Under-20 program long list has been officially announced by Head Coach Pete Hercus. The 34-player roster is comprised of players from across Ontario. The Ontario Blues Women's program is the high performance representative program for female rugby players in Ontario. It is designed to develop and showcase female athletes for Canadian national teams. Last year, the U20 Blues won gold at the Under-20 Canadian Rugby Championships.

The development team represents Ontario at the Under-20 women’s Canadian Rugby Championship, and is designed to develop and showcase female athletes for the under-20 national team, as well as serving as a feeder program for the Ontario Blues Women's senior team.

The U20 Blues will open up their exhibition schedule with a match against Quebec on June 4 at Mary Ann Sills Park in Belleville, Ontario. The U20 team will kickoff at 11:30am EDT, while the Senior Blues follow at 1:00pm EDT.

The Senior Blues and the U20 Blues will join together in preparation on May 28 at Oshawa Vikings Rugby Club, where they will train and scrimmage.
