(WHITBY, ON) - Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce that the organization has appointed Ryan Jones as Rugby Development Coordinator. Effective immediately, Ryan joins our headquarters in Whitby, moving to the area from Manitoba. The Rugby Ontario organization is extremely excited to welcome Ryan to Ontario and to our office.

Before arriving in Ontario, Ryan worked with Rugby Manitoba as the Youth Program Coordinator, where his role was to assist the growth and development of youth rugby across the province of Manitoba, primarily through the Rookie Rugby program. During his time with Rugby Manitoba, they managed to double the number of children exposed to rugby for the first time in 2016. Ryan's additional rugby experience includes years of playing, coaching and officiating.

"I am thrilled that my path has led me to Ontario and I am excited to be able to work with Rugby Ontario to continue the great work hat has already been done with non-competitive rugby in the province," exclaimed Jones. "I view Rugby Ontario as the standard for rugby development in Canada and intend to build on the great work that has already been done by Rugby Ontario staff and the clubs across the province."

Ryan will fill the role of Rugby Development Coordinator, as Safa Khan vacates the role to attend the University of Toronto for her Masters Degree in Education. Rugby Ontario would like to take this opportunity to thank Safa for her tireless efforts in growing the game of rugby in Ontario, during her two years with the organization and wish her all the best in the future.
