ROUND 2 PREVIEW

(8) Stoney Creek Camels vs. (1) Brantford Harlequins

After defeating the Aurora Barbarians, the Camels draw a tough matchup in the second round, meeting the Brantford Harlequins on the road. The Quins continued their momentum in the first round of the McCormick Cup playoffs, remaining undefeated.

(12) Barrie vs. (4) Markham Irish

In what could be considered the upset of Round 1, Barrie narrowly defeated the #5 ranked Lindsay side to move on to the second round. Their second match will also be tough, as they will meet the #4 ranked Markham Irish, a team hungry to avenge an early exit from the McCormick Cup playoffs last season.

(10) Peterborough Pagans vs. (2) Toronto Scottish

The Marshall Championship's top team defeated the Crusaders in their first round and will meet the #2 ranked Toronto Scottish on the road in their Round 2 fixture. Favored to be in the McCormick Cup final, the Scottish will put up a strong fight against a Pagans team with momentum on their side.

(11) London St. George's vs. (3) Balmy Beach

London is a strong contender to make a run for the McCormick Cup, after a strong Championship season and a first round victory over the EORU's Bytown Blues. They will have to get through a strong Balmy Beach side, though. The Beach have always been in the hunt for a Cup in the fall, with their most recent McCormick Cup coming in 2015. This is guaranteed to be quite the match.

The McCormick Cup is a long-standing tradition in Ontario rugby; a term synonymous with Rugby Ontario. The Cup is the title championship for Rugby Ontario's Marshall Premiership & Championship Senior Men’s First Teams, along with the annual EORU Champion.
