Rugby Canada launches National Training and Education Calendar

2018 National Training and Education Calendar

Langford, BC - Rugby Canada, in partnership with our 10 Provincial Unions, has launched the 2018 National Training and Education Calendar. The Calendar includes coach education courses, match official education courses, as well as First Aid in Rugby. In addition to certification courses, there are also a number of professional development workshops on offer, including Rugby Canada’s National Key Themes.

Some noteworthy additions to the Training and Education calendar are:

  • ‘Coaching Run, Catch and Pass in Sevens’ with Canada Sevens Head Coach Damian McGrath on March 6th 2018, Vancouver BC.
  • ‘Coaching Principles of Attack in Sevens’ with Australia Head Coach Andy Friend on March 7th 2018, Vancouver BC.
  • Female Specific Community Initiation Workshop on February 10th 2018, Ottawa, ON.
  • ‘Refereeing Sevens’ with World Rugby Sevens Referee Manager Paddy O’Brien on March 7th 2018, Vancouver BC.

Rugby Canada also continues to ensure that Player Welfare is our number one priority. We ask that all coaches and match officials adhere to Rugby Canada’s PlaySmart guidelines as they are Rugby Canada’s minimum standards of coaching and officiating across the country. More information about the requirements of a coach and referee in Canada can be found by visiting playsmart.rugbycanada.ca.
