Now accepting nominations for the Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame Class of 2018!
Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce that the 2018 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be held on Sunday November 24, 2018 at the Maple Banquet Hall in Mississauga. The ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Rugby Ontario Awards evening.
As preparations begin for the evening of celebration, the Hall of Fame & Awards Committee (chaired by Domenic Scuglia) is seeking nominations for the Hall of Fame's Class of 2018.
New to this year's Hall of Fame are five classes of nominations. The five classes are Player, Coach, Official and Builder. Since 1999, the Hall of Fame has inducted an excellent group of alumni, especially in the Builder class. For 2018, whilst delighted to receive nominations in all classes, Rugby Ontario encourages members to especially consider the nominations of players, teams, coaches and officials.
Please complete and submit nominations on the Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame Nomination Form (below) and send to David Patterson, Rugby Development & Administration Manager at dpatterson@rugbyontario.com by the Tuesday August 14, 2018 deadline. Please note there are two nomination forms, one for builders and one for players/coaches/match officials/teams.
All nominations received are assessed against the Hall of Fame Evaluation Rubric. This rubric contains five criteria (see letter below) which are each scored on a 1 to 6 basis, providing for a possible maximum of 30 points. Each Hall of Fame Committee member votes on each nomination. A nominee requires a minimum of 20 points on 2/3 of the ballots submitted to be inducted, with a maximum of six candidates (plus ties) to be inducted in any one year.
To assist the Committee to give full and proper consideration to all nominations received, only nominations submitted on the official nomination form providing information on each of the evaluation criteria, will be accepted.
