August 18, 2018 – Matches

Premiership Playoff Round 2

Premier League Cup Final: Brantford Harlequins V Toronto Scottish (3:00pm ET at Harlequins RFC)

The two top teams from each division did not disappoint in their Ontario League opener and will meet to determine which squad will be ranked #1 going into the McCormick Cup Playoffs.

Premier League Bronze Match: Markham Irish V Lindsay RFC (1:30pm ET at Fletcher’s Fields)

Markham and Lindsay both lost their openers but have secured a spot in the Bronze medal match to determine the third and fourth seed in the McCormick Cup Playoffs.

Premier League Plate Final: Balmy Beach V Crusaders (3:00pm ET at Tubbs and Gee Gage Field)

In the bottom half of the Premiership, Balmy Beach and the Crusaders – the two #3 seeds – both won their first round matches and will play each other to determine the fifth and sixth seed in the McCormick Cup Playoffs.

Premier League Plate 3rd: Peterborough Pagans V Stoney Creek Camels (3:00pm ET at Nicholls Oval)

It has been determined that the Peterborough Pagans will be relegate to the Marshall Championship East division for the 2017 season and the Stoney Creek Camels to the Marshall Championship West division. This match will still determine their seeding for the McCormick Cup Playoffs though, with a seventh and ninth ranking on the line. (Eighth seed in the McCormick Cup goes to EORU 1)

Championship Playoff Round 2

Championship League Cup Final: Waterloo County V Burlington Centaurs (3:00pm ET at Bluevale Collegiate)

With both of the teams in the Cup Final being from the Western side of the Marshall Championship, these two teams will battle for a promotion to the Marshall Premiership and for the eleventh and twelfth seed in the McCormick Cup Playoffs. (Tenth seed goes to EORU 2)

Championship League Bronze Match: Ajax Wanderers V Barrie (3:00pm ET at Ajax Wanderers)

The Wanderers and Barrie will be determining both their McCormick Cup Playoff seed (thirteenth and fourteenth), as well as the team to be promoted into the Marshall Premiership out of the East. Both teams are coming off of first round losses but will be looking for redemption in this one.

Championship League Plate Final: London St. George’s V Toronto Nomads (3:00pm ET at London)

The Toronto Nomads and London St. George’s both had impressive wins in the first round of the Ontario League Playoffs. With a loss, either team will have to participate in the NRU Intermediate Cup and will face possible relegation. The winner will be seeded at fifteenth in the McCormick Cup playoffs, while the loser will participate in the Intermediate Cup in lieu of the McCormick Cup.

Championship League Plate 3rd: Aurora Barbarians V Oshawa Vikings (1:30pm ET at Fletcher’s Fields)

The Aurora Barbarians and Oshawa Vikings will both be fighting to stay out of the TRU Intermediate Cup, which would mean the possibility of relegation. The Barbarians and Vikings are both coming off of close first round losses and will be battling hard on Saturday at Fletcher’s Fields. The winning team will be seeded as sixteenth in the McCormick Cup playoffs. The loser will participate in the Intermediate Cup in lieu of the McCormick Cup playoffs.
