Rookie Rugby Training Update

ROOKIE RUGBY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING UNDERWAY

JANUARY 22nd, 2019

(WHITBY, ON)- Rugby Ontario is proud to once again provide Rookie Rugby Instructor Training Session in 2019.

The first training session was held at Brock University on January 18th with students in the Sports Management 4P9 course. The students will be travelling to Turks and Caicos Island this month to deliver rugby sessions to school children on the island. The course had just over 20 students, all with a mix of rugby knowledge.

Another session was held the same day at R.S. McLaughlin High School with ten teachers from the Durham District School Board. The teachers who attended the training were looking to implement rugby into their physical education classes as well as be prepared for the annual Durham DSB Flag Rugby Festival on Friday May 3^rd 2019.

On Friday January 25th, a training session will be held at McMaster University. Rugby Ontario staff will be working with university students who are helping to promote rugby in their community, in partnership with the Hamilton Hornets and Stoney Creek Camels rugby clubs.
