(WHITBY, ON) - “The Ontario Way” Coaching Clinic will be run in conjunction with the winter High Performance “Program” final training session. At this session, the provincial coaching staff(s) for each of the 12 Ontario Age Grade Teams will be delivering CORE SKILL DEVELOPMENT EXERCISES that hi-light the Rugby Canada Core Themes:

•Run, Pass and Catch

•Breakdown and Clear-out

•Tracking and Tackling

•Footwork and Off-Loading

GOAL:

Improve the technical and tactical rugby knowledge of Ontario coaches.

Provide a consistent message with common language that all provincial players and coaches utilize.

Provide a reference point for Coach Development (throughout the season) and establish Talent ID networks across Ontario.

The last hour of the session will outline “Attack Shape” and “Defensive Principles” that the Ontario Age Grade Program will be executing this season…Bringing it all together.

ABOUT THE ONTARIO BLUES

The Ontario Blues program is the high performance representative program for male and female rugby players in Ontario. Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens and Under-18 Men's and Women's Sevens. Specifically, the program is designed to develop and showcase rugby players for Canadian representative national teams.
