In Memory of Ivor Jones

(WHITBY,ON)- It is with great sadness that Rugby Ontario announces the passing of Ivor Jones. Rugby Ontario sends its condolences to Ivor’s family and the Brantford Harlequins Rugby Football Club. The Harlequins have provided Rugby Ontario with the following statement regarding Ivor’s passing:
It is with great sadness on behalf of all Brantford Harlequins that we announce the passing of Ivor Jones. Ivor was one of the original Jones' that established the Brantford Harlequins back in 1950 and has been a fixture at our Family Day events in recent years. Ivor was always happy to talk about and share the activities of the Harlequins wherever he was - to his friends in Timmons or during his annual long trek down to George Jones Fields.
Ivor was very proud of what all the Jones' established and achieved within Brantford and Ontario rugby. On behalf of Ivor and his Family, they have created and donated the Jones Cup that will be established in their memory and legacy.
Ivor was a true lifetime member of the Harlequins family. We pass along our thoughts and memories to the Jones family. We will have a short toast in Ivor's honour & memory Tuesday night 8:30pm at the Tin Cup, following Sr Men's practice.
ABOUT THE ONTARIO BLUES
The Ontario Blues program is the high performance representative program for male and female rugby players in Ontario. Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens and Under-18 Men's and Women's Sevens. Specifically, the program is designed to develop and showcase rugby players for Canadian representative national teams.
