Ontario Blues Senior Men's Squad Earn Silver Medal
July 2nd, 2019
(WHITBY, ON) – Rugby Ontario would like to congratulate the coaching staff, management team and most importantly the players who competed at the Eastern Canadian Super League Senior Men's Rugby Championships in Halifax this past weekend. Despite coming up on the short end of a 27-7 defeat to Quebec in the final, the Senior Blues Development Program gave a brilliant account of themselves in their inaugural season.
"Quebec played very well and were full value in their 27-7 victory over the Sr. Blues" stated Head Coach Phil Murphy. "In saying that, I couldn't be more proud of the men and the compete level that they demonstrated playing three very tough games in three days."
The Senior Men's Development program engaged over 50 U-23 players in this summers program, establishing a clear development pathway between the Ontario U-19 program and higher levels of elite rugby.
Up next for the Sr. Blues, two fixtures against Dublin University.
