September 20th, 2019

(WHITBY, ON) - After 14 weeks of competition, the Fall Cup draw and schedule is set! The Fall Cup is a competition introduced by Rugby Ontario in consultation with the 16 Marshall Clubs in 2019. The competition will feature Senior Men’s First Teams that finished outside of the top four in the Marshall 1st League Standings.

Teams will play each team in their pool once. The top two teams in each pool will play for the Fall Cup on Saturday, October 19th at Fletcher’s Fields as part of McCormick Cup day

POOL A: Ajax Wanderers, London St. George, Crusaders RFC

The Ajax Wanderers enter the Fall Cup as the top seed in Pool A. The club finished 5th in the Marshall East Division with 34 points, earning a record of 6-8-0 along the way. The Wanderers enter the post-season having won two of their last three games. Ajax will be a tough side to beat on their home field. Four of their six victories came on their home pitch.

London St. George finished the 2019 Marshall regular season with a record of 5-9-0. The club finished with 26 points, good enough for 6th place in the Marshall West Division. Similar to Ajax, London enter the Fall Cup having won two of their previous three matches. However, the club will be looking to bounce back after ending the regular season with a loss to Crusaders RFC. The two clubs met one other time during the regular season, with London coming away with the victory.

Fresh off their big win over London, Crusaders RFC enter the fall season ready to make a deep cup run. The Cru went 3-11-0, posting 25 total points. The club finished in 7th spot in the West Marshall table.  The Crusaders will look to take care of business in their home matches during the Fall Cup.
