Jr. Blues Ready For  Western Canadian 7s

(WHITBY, ON) - The Ontario Jr.Blues 7s Program is heading west for their first competition of the 2020 season. The Jr. Blues will send a U18 Boys and a U18 Girls team to compete in the Western Canadian 7s, which is being held in at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB from February 16th - 17th. The tournament features top U18 Boys and Girls squads from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Rugby Canada will also be sending a Academy squad to compete in the U18 Girls Division.

"We're extremely excited for our first trip to the Western Canadian 7s Championship this weekend" said Khalil Ajram, Program Lead for Rugby Ontario 7s. We're looking forward to competing against the best teams from Western Canada and giving our athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of staff from Rugby Canada." 

Both teams will play three matches on the first day of the competition. The Championship matches for both competitions will be held Monday afternoon. The rosters for both squads and the pool play schedule can be found below. All matches will be streamed on the Rugby Alberta YouTube channel or on the Rugby Alberta Facebook page. ABOUT THE ONTARIO BLUES

The Ontario Blues program is the high performance representative program for male and female rugby players in Ontario. Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens and Under-18 Men's and Women's Sevens. Specifically, the program is designed to develop and showcase rugby players for Canadian representative national teams.
