(WHITBY, ON) - Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce an addition to our membership: The Caledon Cavaliers Rugby Football Club! The club was first formed in 2001, but have  been inactive for close to 13 years. Now in 2021, the club returns with a focus on growing the game through the Minor and Junior age grades.  

"Our main objective is to help develop Rugby in the community and in particular help with promoting the growth of grassroots Rugby for ages 5 thru 12 and up to the U19 age groups"  said club President Mike Iacovelli. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Caledon Cavaliers board of executives and our support staff for helping to build a solid foundation for the club.  The club is looking forward to working with Rugby Ontario and all member clubs in the months to follow." 

 The Club is already offering program, engaging younger athletes with the hopes of building a strong foundation heading into next season. 

"We are currently on our fourth week of an eight-week Rookie Rugby program that is being hosted by the Town of Caledon.  We will be running our Second Rookie Program in partnership with the Town commencing on January 8th thru March 12th" said Iacovelli. 

The club plans to run various Minor and Junior, Boys and Girls teams in the 2022 season and hope to run Senior teams if there is enough interest.
