"I started playing four years ago and fell in love with the sport, I suffered a bad knee injury that took me out for two seasons so I turned to refereeing and coaching the younger ages at my club! Seeing kids grow and love the game as much as I do is why I chose this position."

"I began playing rugby in the 11th grade. I was convinced to switch from basketball by my rugby coach and one of my really great friends. I joined Lindsay a year later and the rest is history. I love rugby because every team is like a little family. I chose to accept this position because I want to invite others to start playing rugby so they can love it as much as I do and because I wish I had had the opportunity to start playing sooner."

"I began playing rugby when I began studying at the University of Ottawa last fall. I have always enjoyed team sports and they played a immense role in my upbringing. This is why I began playing rugby and jumped at the opportunity to take a position where I could help spread the sport of rugby."

"Just finishing my 8th year of rugby, and I couldn’t be any happier that I decided to take up this sport in high school. Looking back, rugby has brought so many great opportunities (national championship in -25 degree weather) but also a lot of strong friendships. I joke that any new player coming onto our club team instantly gains 30-50 new friends. I decided to take this position, not only to spread my love and passion for the sport, but also to give these kids/students, especially girls someone to look up to. I hope that the work I do with Rookie Rugby and Rugby Ontario changes some of these young athletes lives."

Dorian: "I started playing rugby in grade 9 and right away fell in love with it. Once i got into my last year of high school i knew i wanted to continue to play at a high level. I made the varsity team at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I still play to this day. Since then, I have continued to try and give back to rugby since the sport has done so much for me. I have coached back at my high school every year since leaving, as well as taking roles in the clubs I have played for to help grow the game of rugby."

"I started playing rugby in Highschool, It wasn‘t too long after that that I became very intersted in club rugby. To me there is a huge family aspect to rugby and thats why I love this game, there’re so many role models in my club that I look up to and I hope to one day be a role model in my rugby club for someone else."

"I‘ve been playing rugby since high school and I have been playing as a tight head prop. I love rugby because of its culture, most of my friends are rugby players. I took the position to encourage kids to try a sport they aren’t really familiar with and hope they get the same experiences I got out of it."

"I began playing rugby in grade 9 but it was always my second sport as I played rep soccer. My soccer coaches told me I had to pick one sport so I chose rugby and never looked back. The game is like no other and the community is so welcoming. I played all through high school, for the Stratford Black Swans and this past year for Laurier. I accepted this position because I wanted a job I was passionate about and could be active in which is entirely this position. I also want to be a teacher so this job was a perfect stepping stone in that path."
