Club Community Spotlight: Aurora Barbarians

(WHITBY, ON) - In the lead up to the 2022 season, Rugby Ontario is launching a new social media campaign titled “Community Spotlight”. The goal of the campaign is to highlight the many unique events and programs that member clubs delivered during the 2021 season and showcase them on the Rugby Ontario social media accounts and website! Today’s spotlight is on the Aurora Barbarians Club Parents and Adult-Learn to Play Rugby Program!

Aurora Barbarians- Club Parents and Adult-Learn to Play Rugby Program
What are the details of the program/event?
We took advantage of the new 12-week non-contact membership that was offered in 2021 and ran a 12-week program for club parents and adults over 18 who wanted to learn how to play rugby
Who is responsible for running the program/event?

What was the goal of the program/event?
The program was designed to engage club parents and our community and get them to be active for 90 minutes each week and learn how to play rugby
How can people get involved and support the program/event?
The program will restart in June for 12 weeks and will grow this year to include Mixed Ability rugby, in partnership with the Town of Aurora. The Barbarians are excited to bring Mixed Ability Sports to Aurora!
