Rugby Ontario Announces 2022 Hall of Fame Class & Awards Winners

(WHITBY, ON) - Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 inductees and the recipients of the 2022 Annual Awards.  After two years of postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rugby Ontario will deliver the pinnacle recognition program on Saturday, November 12, 2022.  

Entering the Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame in 2022 will be the following members rugby community who have each made significant contributions to the sport of rugby in Ontario:

Aaron Carpenter (Player)

Dan & Mike Pletch (Player)

Lee Powell (Builder) 

Steve Scott (Official)

Tony Godziek (Player)

Rugby Ontario will also present the 2022 Annual Awards recognizing the following individuals and clubs for their achievements this season: 

Senior Provincial Player of the Year (Female) – Megan Pakulis (Scarborough Aces)

Senior Provincial Player of the Year (Male) – Justin Taylor (Oshawa Vikings)

Junior Provincial Player of the Year (Female) – Madison Donnelly (Aurora Barbarians)

Junior Provincial Player of the Year (Male) – Kyle Shibata (Barrhaven Scottish)

Senior Club Player of the Year (Female) – Maddie Hobson (Guelph Redcoats)

Senior Club Player of the Year (Male) – Jordan Kozina (Brantford Harlequins)

Club Coach of the Year (Female) – Jessie Ann Gibson (Guelph Redcoats)

Club Coach of the Year (Male) – Trevor Grills (Barrhaven Scottish)

Junior Club Program of the Year (Female) – Oshawa Vikings

Junior Club Program of the Year (Male) – Barrhaven Scottish (U16 Boys)

Minor Club Program of the Year – Caledon Cavaliers

Volunteer of the Year – Ian Royer (Rainbow Griffins)

Senior Match Official of the Year – Karen Lozada

Junior Match Official of the Year – Carson Young


The 2022 Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame inductees and Annual Award winners will be honoured at the awards ceremony in Mississauga, ON, on the evening of Saturday, November 12, 2022.  The awards ceremony will be held at the Maple Banquet Hall (Map: 1325 Eglinton Ave E, Mississauga, ON).  

For guests that wish to attend the dinner, tickets can be purchased online at the link below either individually for $140.00 or in tables of 10 for $1250.00 ($15.00 off per ticket when purchasing a table):
