Rugby Ontario Welcomes Interns to Office

(TORONTO, ON) – Rugby Ontario is excited to welcome a new group of interns who will be working out of the organization’s main office for the remaining winter months. The interns will help out with various aspects of the organization’s operations including competitions, high performance, events, marketing, as well as game, coach and match official development. Please join us in welcoming the four new staff members to the Rugby Ontario community.


Matt Dexter – Competitions, Events & Marketing Intern

An Innisfil native, Matt is currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate at Durham College in Sport Business Management. Prior to that, he completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology & Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier. Matt played rugby all through high school, while attending Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie, winning the GBSSA Championships in his final year.

Nikki Fraser – Coach & Match Official Development Intern

Nikki is currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate at Durham College in Sport Business Management. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in History from the University of Guelph. In her hometown of Georgetown, she played rugby throughout high school, captaining the senior team in her final year. She also wrestled throughout high school and continued her wrestling career at Guelph, where she was on the Varsity Wrestling team. Nikki has volunteered at various sporting events such as the World Cup of Hockey, Terry Fox Run and Run for the Cure.

Shenda Harrison – Game Development Intern


Shenda is currently attending Durham College, completing a three-year Advanced Diploma in Sport Management. She played six seasons of rugby with her hometown Brockville Sirens program; playing for their U18 team, Women’s team and also representing the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union’s U20 Women’s team. She has also played hockey for sixteen years, while also volunteering in Game Day Operations with the Prescott Flyers CCHL hockey team for five seasons.

Vivian Lee – High Performance Intern



Vivian is a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario. She completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and is now working toward a post-grad certificate in Sport Business Management from Durham College. Although Vivian only played rugby a few times in high school, she has a passion for many sports. She played high school basketball and flag football and also played for the University of Toronto’s flag football team, as a right guard. She also plays softball and snowboards. Most recently, Vivian worked as an Anti-Doping intern at the Toronto 2015 Pan-Am Games.
