Rugby Ontario Welcomes Lauren Braiter and Sam Tinajero-Alvarado

As rugby actions continues to pick up, Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members who will contribute key deliverables and work to grow the rugby community across several channels. Please join us in welcoming them!
 
Lauren Braiter joins Rugby Ontario as Coordinator, Match Officials becoming a member of the Rugby Operations department. Reporting to the Director, Rugby Operations, Lauren will assist Rugby Ontario in achieving the strategic objective to attract, accredit, develop and retain community Match Officials (Referees). This position provides a critical and fundamental service to support Rugby Ontario’s community of Match Officials, Coach of Match Officials and Educator workforce.
 
“Though I'm new to the sport of rugby, I am really looking forward to expanding my knowledge and embracing an entirely exciting community,” said Lauren Braiter.
 
Lauren comes from a social service and sport management background. She has extensive knowledge when it comes to hockey and softball, but is new to the world of rugby. Lauren is very excited to be part of the Rugby Ontario team and is looking forward to growing the game, specifically through match officials, with the rest of the team.

“We are delighted to have Lauren Braiter join our team at Rugby Ontario. It is an exciting time for rugby in Ontario as we continue to rebuild and refocus our sport in many important areas,” said John Hyland, Director, Rugby Operations of Rugby Ontario. “Lauren will join our training and education team and provide much needed support to match officials, and the rugby community at large.”
 
Rugby Ontario has also taken steps to effectively grow the sport of rugby through media and communications strategy. To provide leadership and skill to the marketing and communications unit within the organization, Rugby Ontario welcomes Sam Tinajero-Alvarado as Coordinator, Digital Media and Communications.
 
As an experienced digital marketer and content creator, Sam will have responsibility of all aspects of Rugby Ontario's marketing, social media and digital media content. Sam's role will be largely focused on ideating, creating and executing marketing and communications strategies and content that will successfully amplify the organization as well as the sport of rugby to a broader community.

"As a player myself, being able to blend my love for the sport and my skillset is a true accomplishment,” said Sam Tinajero-Alvarado. "Working with Rugby Ontario will be such an insightful and fulfilling experience, can't wait to get started!"

A recent graduate of the Media Production program at the highly coveted RTA School of Media at Toronto Metropolitan University, Sam has a diverse knowledge in graphic design, video production, editing, photography, writing and social media content creation.
 
“We are very excited to welcome Sam to our team at Rugby Ontario as Coordinator, Digital Media & Communications," said Myles Spencer, Rugby Ontario CEO. "Sam brings a wide range of skills and experience to this position, and as a rugby enthusiast herself, she is energized by the opportunity to enhance our efforts in promoting the sport of rugby."
