To commemorate the one year anniversary of the passage of Rowan’s Law, Canada’s first concussion legislation, it was announced yesterday by the parents of Rowan Stringer, Gord and Kathleen, as well as members of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, Rugby Canada, the Heart and Crown Company of Restaurants and local MPP Lisa MacLeod that Rowan’s Legacy Project would be created.  Rowan’s Legacy Project will host an annual concussion symposium in conjunction with the University of Ottawa during Brain Awareness Week in October.  The Heart and Crown Company of Restaurants in turn will host an annual celebrity golf tournament to support Rowan’s Legacy Project.

The Annual UOBMRI Rowan’s Legacy Concussion Symposium during Brain Awareness Week will be similar to the See The Line symposium hosted by Western University and whose Honourary Chair is Hockey Hall of Famer Eric Lindros, a supporter of Rowan’s Law.

The Heart and Crown Group of Companies will host a golf tournament featuring celebrity athletes this August 23rd at Cedarhill Golf Course to assist in the funding of the Rowan’s Legacy Project Initiative.

Rowan’s Legacy Project has been initiated by the Concussion Legacy Foundation.
